Areas of Interaction:
The Areas of Interaction are an integral part of the curriculum where the term's work is planned to include the Areas of Interaction throughout the individual subjects and cross-curricular projects.
- Approaches to Learning is concerned with the development of effective study and self management skills.
- Community and Service encourages responsible, caring participation in the local community and the world at large.
- Health and Social Education is concerned with respect for body and mind.
- Environment stresses the importance of conservation and the responsibility placed on future generations for the conservation of the natural world.
- Homo Faber ["Man the Maker"] focuses on the changes Man's creative and inventive genius have brought to society. Integration of the subjects' cross-curricular projects form an integral part of the learning experience where natural links occur. This enables students to perceive knowledge as a multi-faceted experience and to realize that subjects do not exist in isolation.
Personal Project:
In the final year of the MYP students prepare and present a personal project. This can be of a practical or aesthetic nature and should be "personal" rather than academic. It will be an independent piece of work intended to demonstrate the student's achievements and involvement with the five Areas of Interaction.
